Abstract
Aloe vera a prominent member of the lily family, contains numerous bioactive compounds with therapeutic potential. Its Arabic name, "true bitter substance," reflects its bitter taste Aloe vera is renowned for its antibacterial, anti-inflammatory properties, and skin benefits. With approximately 500 varieties, most cultivated in subtropical regions, Aloe aborescens and Aloe barbadensis are particularly significant for their medicinal applications. Commonly grown in Australia, Africa, Central America, the Caribbean, India, and Mexico, among other regions, aloe vera is a small plant (2 inches tall) with leaves that can reach 36 inches in length and weigh up to 3 pounds.
