Abstract
In patients having elective gallbladder surgery, this prospective comparative study assessed the intraoperative time difference between traditional four-port laparoscopic cholecystectomy (CLC) and three-port laparoscopic cholecystectomy (3PLC). One hundred patients in all were enrolled, split equally between the CLC and 3PLC groups. From skin incision until closure, the duration of the operation was measured. In comparison to the CLC group (58.6 ± 14.2 minutes, p < 0.001), the 3PLC group showed a statistically significant decrease in mean operating time (47.3 ± 12.1 minutes). Conversion rates and intraoperative complications were similar across groups, demonstrating the decreased port approach's safety. Although it necessitates highly skilled surgery, the three-port approach also has the potential to improve cosmetic results and lessen postoperative pain. All things considered, three-port laparoscopic cholecystectomy is a practical, secure, and effective substitute for the traditional technique that improves both patient satisfaction and operational efficiency
