Abstract
Background:
Digital literacy in nursing refers to the ability to access, evaluate, and use digital tools and technologies effectively for clinical, educational, and administrative purposes. In Pakistan, the integration of digital technologies into nursing education is emerging, with electronic health records (EHRs), learning management systems (LMS), virtual simulation, blended learning, telehealth, and artificial intelligence creating new opportunities to strengthen nursing education and clinical preparedness.
Aim/Objective:
This paper aims to examine the significance of digital literacy in nursing education in Pakistan.
Method:
A narrative and evidence-based review of the available literature and existing developments related to digital literacy in nursing education was undertaken.
Conclusion:
Digital literacy should be recognized as a core professional competency rather than merely a technical skill in contemporary nursing education. Developing digitally empowered nurses can contribute substantially to a resilient, connected, evidence-informed, and future-ready healthcare workforce in Pakistan.
