Abstract
The hallmarks of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) include chronic hyperglycaemia, insulin resistance and deranged lipid metabolism and represent a global pandemic disorder which results in a heightened risk of cardiovascular disease. Glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c) is a very important indicator of the long-term glycaemic control and has a tendency to grant the development of diabetes dyslipidaemia with resultant abnormalities of the lipid profile that include raised triglycerides, low HDL-C concentrations, and LDL-C. Critical review of 11 articles of 2013-2024 shows that poor glycaemic control (high HbA1c) is still linked to unfavourable lipid patterns. The evidence proves that in those settings where it is difficult to measure cholesterol, HbA1c has the potential to become an indirectly expressed evidence of lipids issues. The study underlines the importance of management of type 2 diabetes, which balances markers of lipids and glycol at once in an effort to mitigate cardiovascular impact. To understand such relations, it is proposed to conduct additional studies.
