Abstract
This paper analyses the effectiveness of percutaneous trigger finger release (PTFR) in the management of stenosing tenosynovitis, a musculoskeletal disorder typical of the body that results in the stiffening and pain of the fingers. The prospective and case series was conducted in a tertiary care facility located in Karachi, Pakistan on 315 cases. The findings indicate that PTFR is a safe, minimally invasive surgery, and its success rates are 84.13 to reduce the symptoms of pain and improve finger movement. The benefits of PTFR are that it requires less time to recover compared to traditional open surgery and additionally has reduced complications. The study is a contribution to the body of little literature on PTFR in Pakistan and it can be proposed as a safer, more cost-effective method in the management of the trigger finger, especially in resource-limited situations. More studies would be required to evaluate the long-term results and improve methods of surgery.
