Abstract

Eye flu, commonly known as conjunctivitis, has become a growing global concern due to its rapid transmission and recurrent outbreaks. This study focuses on the main causes, symptoms, and worldwide trends of ocular flu. While viral and bacterial infections remain the most common causes, environmental factors and inadequate hygiene also play a role.   Significant differences in epidemic strength, seasonal occurrence, and mechanisms of transmission are evident in data from a number of nations, including the US, Europe, Japan, Africa, and India.   Weather and crowding have boosted the number of cases reported in India, despite the fact that viral alterations and public contact situations are often associated with outbreaks in the US and Europe. In a similar vein, environmental exposure and limited access to preventative treatment are associated with an increase in occurrence in Africa and Japan. To enhance international public health initiatives and prevent future epidemics, it is essential to comprehend these regional variations. This study highlights the significance of knowledge, early diagnosis, and preventative hygiene to lessen the transmission of ocular flu in an attempt to present a comparative picture of the global burden.
